Coming Soon: Orientation for Parents of Secondary Dual Language Immersion Learners

What happens when Dual Language Immersion (DLI) students transition from fifth-grade to middle school or from eighth-grade to high school? Answers to these questions, and more, will be explained during CSD’s annual Orientation for parents of secondary DLI learners.

The event will take place virtually this year in line with COVID-19-related precautions. Families can tune into the Orientation on CSD’s online learning portal Canvas any time between Monday, Sept. 14, and Nov. 4, 2020. Parents of all middle- and high school-aged DLI students are invited to attend.

SALTA Testing: Apply to Test for Placement in Canyons’ Advanced Learning Program

It can be difficult to know if your child is a high achiever or exhibiting signs of being a gifted learner. Every child is unique and no two gifted children are alike.

But there are tests to assist parents in determining whether their children would benefit from placement in an educational setting, such as, Canyons School District’s SALTA magnet program for advanced learners — and the time for applying to be tested is coming soon.

Monday Minute 9.8.2020

Dear Eagles,

The federal government is providing relief funding for families by paying for school breakfasts and lunches for all children under the age of 18 until December 2020 or the funding runs out.  This includes babies and preschoolers.  You do not need to sign up for this benefit—it is automatic.  If your child is attending school in person, they can come at 7:45 for breakfast and then pick their lunch choice in their classroom for lunch.  No student names or lunch numbers will be needed. You do not need to send any lunch money to school.  If you currently have money in your student’s account, it will be available after the relief funding is completed.
