Dear Parents,

Last week our students got to hear from an award-winning 5th grader!  Azaylea Olson, in Mr. Nelson’s class, won the state PTA essay-writing contest on the topic of veterans.  She was filmed reading her essay for all of our student body to watch, and then our 5th grade invited the subject of the essay—Azaylea’s grandpa—to come to school while she read it in person to the entire 5th grade.   Congrats to Azaylea!

Kindness Is Cool

Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school these past couple of months.  We have the best students!

Arabella Zank (5th grade) – being forgiving, understanding and kind in a hard situation

Danielle Richards (5th grade) – always looking for kindness in others

Grace Nolde (Kindergarten) – helping teacher put tools away after small groups

Eyal Vos (4th grade) – being inclusive and playing recess games in a way that gives everyone a chance to REALLY participate

Primrose Anderson (4th grade) – picking up jump ropes without being asked

Jayde Lee (5th grade) – came into the classroom on an inside day and did other kids’ jobs!
