Meeting Minutes:
- Review and approve previous minutes: Ginger makes motion to approve Sept minutes, Aimee seconds that. All in favor. Motion passes.

- Safe Walking Routes
- Safe walking routes- Sunrise Meadows, Sunrise park-North on sterling until zig zag nature path to Michael way, north on 17th until the school.
- Ridgecrest- 8860 S. up to 17th then (confirm)
- Belmonts-Alter Drive to Granada then Granada to the back 0f the school grounds pathway.
- Alta Vista- Walk E to 17th then South on 17th until the school.
- Havory Park, Villa Dell Sole and (I missed this one?)-Granada
- Sunridge- Richard Road to school.
- West of 13: E to get to 13th, Waters lane then follow pathway to Granada.
- Major Walking Routes are 17th, Richard, Granada, Steerling.
- What is missing?
- Concerns to have west of 13th bridge for students to cross. (Like Eastmont has). Usually a crossing guard on the corner to cross 13th and Granada or Waters (whichever is at intersection). Would be a city issue to request bridge. Chanci said: Request from municipality to have sidewalks and now they are putting in sidewalks there. 7th E going to Union: Would not provide crossing guard because of student age. Aimee said we will find out percentage that has to cross 13th to provide data for bringing up to request the bridge.
- Concern: Ginger picks up students. When coming S. on 17th E and kids go down by Granada with kids crossing and parents often turning right. We should get a crossing guard and use watchdog until we can get one.
- Ginger: Concern with zig zag nature path being less public and more likely to have incidents?
- Chanci has walked it and hasn’t seen the possibility for people incidents.
- Possible weather hazard in winter for ice/snow.
- Is the zig-zag lit? Sterling to Michael is dark, lacking street lights. Aimee would prefer students walking zig-zag to them walking the road with little lighting.
- Motion to approve passed and seconded.
- Signatures needed for walking route map. Aimee will email map and suggestions/areas of concern and have everyone sign..
- Table digital citizenship until next meeting (she is not here tonight so can we move it to next meeting).
- What is missing?
Principal Report
- Data Review – Tami
- TSSP Goal: 80% at or above proficiency using composite score. Show Typical or above Typical growth. Fall composite for reading: 65% at or above now. We have room for growth.
- TSI: looking at 43 ML, 65% of Special Ed are at or above benchmark.
- Similar starting scores, ending the year higher. Will take a few years to get back, now we are heading in the right direction.
- Math goal:85% proficient at or above using math composite. Show typical or above typical growth on pathways of progress measure. When we get that data in January and February. Now, 60% are at/above. Special Ed students 31 and 43% are at or above. Usually come in lower and ending at higher proficiency.
- Climate goal: decrease number of students who exhibit moderate/high ratings on internal or external behaviors.
- Aimee explained what SRSS-IE is. First step to screen students likely to have behavioral issues. When they have multiple factors as moderate/high risk they can use it to check in with students. We want to see a decrease in students by the end of the year.
- What are we doing?:
- We have all students district wide take Acadience assessments
- Did more specific diagnostic to identify needs to help meet needs and make growth.
- Money is going toward more MTSS supports. Human skills, academic skills for. ML, Students with disabilities, Gen Ed.
- 9 reading aides. Will expand hours into math more but now we have some math supports, reading support and language intervention support. All students with additional language support have interventionists. Approval was to get 28 hours from the wellness department. Increased and got approval last summer to get a Behavior Supports for more check in and check outs. All support staff are servicing students with disabilities in mainstreaming and in intervention groups.
- Increasing instructional practice time and increasing professional learning time to guide staff in how to support students more.
- Aimee is advocating to get our school resources.
- What are we doing?:

On the newsletter there was a google form asking for ideas from families for improvement to the school.. Which systems support Silver Mesa the best? Aimee got several good responses. Worth reflecting on negative feedback. Quarterly good for now. End of term is coming and they.
Safety:
- Aimee wants feedback on drills. Doors are shutting harder now. Do we need a bigger closer for the doors? Did we get the bigger closer for exterior doors? We have a new closer on vestibule doors. Some doors in between get propped open and we are working on the vestibule doors that can not be propped open.
