2023-24 SCC Meeting Schedule (ZOOM LINK)
- Continue with the second Wednesday of the month at 7:15 via zoom.
Land Trust/TSSP review, school focus
- Amendment for School Climate Goal will be presented to the Board for approval at the Oct 17, 2023 Board Meeting.
- Noelle will also be leading the Pledge of Allegiance and giving a five minute highlight of Silver Mesa Elementary to the Board at this meeting

Academic data
Digital Citizenship & Safety Plan
- Digital citizenship week is Oct 16th-18th, before Fall Break
- Here is what the District has prepared to share
- Monthly reminders sent to the teachers to discuss during the month from the Digital Citizenship Coordinator, Megan Guzman
- PTA will do White Ribbon Week November 27th-December 1st
- First and Second Grade Doors still a concern, and we have put in another work order
- Continue to work on this with district and BLT
- Adults need to be last in the building through these doors
- Watch Dogs check

- Students walking in front of the building to go to bathroom
- Go in through office instead
- Use cones to force people to park in the parking lot instead of the fire lane to lessen student exposure to adults in front of the school
- Shared new safety terms and procedures that the state is using to help with better response and understanding in a time of an emergency
- October drill will be Secure drill
School happenings
Staffing:
- We are starting MakerSpace with Mr. Stout and this will also come with a more advanced STEAM Night that will help supplement the one done by PTA in January
PTA Events:
- Book Fair was a great success
- Red Ribbon Week is October 24th-27th
- Each day will have a theme and hopefully we will have an assembly on the 27th
- Fund-Racer will begin at the end of the month and run for two weeks, similar to Penny Wars – $20,000 is the school goal
Facility Issues:
- Outdoor Classroom will be off limits Thursday and Friday for some construction work for flooding mitigation
- Concrete will be poured in the back on Friday after school
