Will contact Lisa Hayes to post the February minutes. Check with critical error on website.

Land Trust/TSSP review, school focus (TSSP)

● TSSP for upcoming year ○ TSSP Rough Draft

● What questions do you have? ○ Is the goal too low?

■ Previously we never included the ACC demographic for the percentages of meeting benchmark because all students are considered general education students. Reading composite beginning of year was 68%.

○ Hiring 1⁄2 day subs benefit?
■ We do 2, 1 hour BLT meetings a month. Difficult to get through most of the agenda.

Extra time needed to utilize the half days to cover the needed time for BLT meetings. If

needed, a small amount potentially set aside for subs. ○ Goal #2, action 4 and 8 typo?

■ will be corrected from reading again to math
○ Action plan for behavior, Eagles nest and Calm corner, is there overlap?

■ Calm corner is first choice for student to self regulate. Second option is Eagle’s nest to be documented to help them regulate. The adult supervising will monitor and track data to help student.

○ Number 6-PBIS matrix, natural consequences, showing results.
■ Teachers have seen positive results. Mrs. Jones conferencing with students about matrix

and within the classroom, students have better knowledge of choices leading directly to

the consequences.

  • ○  Cost estimates will be sent out for the 6 interventionists, up to $100,000. About $30,000 needed to get the .3 increase.
  • ○  Academic goal 1 and 2, professional development costing money?
    • Will continue professional development in PLC and throughout the year during faculty meetings.
    • Most do not cost money. #3 Bringing in someone on district day for training: $1200 (plus lunch for staff)
  • ○  Continue Soar Cards and Principal Pride
    • Teachers comment, it makes a big difference.
    • Instructional Coach, positive changes
    • Parent comments, their child is very excited to get the soar cards. They also have seen the positive change in other schools doing a similar PBIS system.
  • ●  What would you like to see additionally, taken out, different?
  • ●  Is there anything that you feel is missing from the plan? School happenings

● Staffing for next year (this is included somewhat in the TSSP) ○ 23 FTE from the district

■ We have 23 teachers grades K-5

  • ●  Can keep full staff of teachers
  • ●  If numbers indicate the need for an additional kindergarten class, we can hire another teacher in the fall.

○ Classroom movement (physical movement of classes within the building) to bring all three ACC

classes into the building for 24-25 school year ■ Several proposed maps

  • ●  Practice inclusion of ACC in its entirety and keep them together. Staff proposed maps to keep the nearer to each ACC class to allow balanced teaching and fluid switching across classes to better serve the students’ needs.
  • ●  Less movement for the least people. The potential planned map will be addressed at the staff meeting today.
  • ●  Final map will have to pass through risk management for approval. ● Concerns.

○ 2 Doors are still a problem not closing due to building pressure. Several doors also need keypads

installed.

  • Can we find solutions for right now to prevent the possibility of an incident?
    • ●  Chirp on the door?
    • ●  Signs on the doors can be today- “Doors must remain closed”, “Visitors must check in and OUT with front office”-signs can help parents know to close doors.
    • ●  Hoping keypads on all doors approval and installed over spring or summer will correct the faulty door.
    • ●  Watchdog constantly walks around and monitors.
    • ●  Teachers have students close any doors that are left open.
  • Board member offers district comments about the door issue
    • ●  There is a list of needs across various schools that have a need. Safety issues are higher on the list. Alta View and Altara both need door adjustments as well.
    • ●  Anyone we can speak to at the district level? Top is Leon, but we need to go

through the chain of command. Karen and Mrs. Jones will go through Ryan

Jakeman on behalf of the SCC to address concerns. Phone number on file for Ryan

Jakeman is 801-826-5143.
● Keypads are expensive. Money from COVID has been taken away from the

funding for schools. That money is pulled back and now we have to be more strategic with the budget.
