Dear Eagles,
What a whirlwind these last several days have been. We met today as teachers and staff members to learn how to hold virtual meetings and create plans for the future.
Our new motto is Flexibility. We will adjust and do our very best with new information and new circumstances. Please know that we are working hard to serve our community, and we already miss the students!
Plans for at-home learning will be shared shortly. The district offices will be sending that out and will have a link to a website for all schools. You are welcome to contact your child’s teacher with any questions about the work. The learning guides for these next two weeks were created by our district Instructional Supports Department. After that, if we are still out of school, teachers will begin creating the learning experiences for your students.
We are all working, so feel free to reach out with any questions. I may not know the answers, but I’ll do my best! This is so unprecedented—and so fluid—that it’s difficult to plan for.
Please watch for emails with new information as it does change frequently. It will settle eventually, right?
Tell your children “Hi” from me and that I’m thinking of them. I usually give a quote from someone famous on our Monday video announcements, so I’ll give a new one here you can share with them:
“You can always, always give something, even if it is only kindness!”
That is a quote from Anne Frank, who at twelve years old went into hiding with her sister to escape the Nazis during WWII. She and her sister hid in a room behind a bookcase for two years before being discovered. She kept a journal during that time that was since made into a book.
Maybe students could journal their time a little each day with this pandemic? When they look back as adults, it would be interesting to see the perspective. Just a thought!
Upcoming Dates:
April 6-10th: Spring Break (Yes, that’s the only upcoming event in the next few weeks that is still being planned for at this time 🙂
Here’s to another GREAT week!!! (Even if it is uncertain!)
