Dear Eagles,
We are gearing up for PT conferences next week. A PeachJar flyer was sent out with information about signing up for a time to meet virtually with your child’s teacher on Sept. 23rd and 24th. Kindergarten and Dual Language Immersion classes will have conferences at various times throughout the week to ensure they are able to meet with every parent.
Online Dual Language Immersion Students
Options for Spanish support for online students is still in the works. Sorry for the delay! I’m hearing the state will have things up and going in another week.

Fundraiser Dinner
REMINDER: Tomorrow is our Fundraiser Night at Cafe Zupas at Quarry Bend. We hope you can stop by to help us earn up to 25% back between 5-9pm. Don’t have time to wait in line? Order pickup through cafezupas.com and enter code FUNDRAISER25 at checkout to make your order count. If 100 families come, we can earn $200 for Silver Mesa. Anything helps!
Our ONLINE BOOK FAIR starts today! Sept. 14-27
Visit https://www.scholastic.com/bf/silvermesa to order your books today and get them in time for our READ-A-THON! Teachers wish lists will be added to Teacher Book Wish List in the next few days. We will have two theme weeks during the read-a-thon: one will be diversity/inclusion, and another mystery. Be sure to check out books that will help your child explore new horizons!
Read-a-thon
The PTA is sponsoring a Read-a-thon in conjunction with our “no-fuss” fundraiser. It will run Oct. 5-30th, and more details will be forthcoming. In order to help prepare for this event, don’t forget to order books from our Virtual Book Fair!
Book Drive
Another way we’re getting ready for our read-a-thon is by doing a book collection. The first week of our fundraiser, we will be hosting a “book walk.” (Think cake walk, but with books!) For the next two weeks until September 30th, we will be collecting books in a bin right outside the front doors of the school. Go through your at-home libraries and grab books to donate. Make room for your new Book Fair books!
Parent/Teacher Conference Meal Donations
Parents: Help us show our Love and Appreciation for our amazing teachers by signing up to help with the meals during Parent Teacher Conferences Sept. 23-24. Because of Covid, we can only provide catered meals and would love Cash Donations to help offset those costs so please consider signing up for a donation slot as well.
