One more week until students have their first day of school! We’re excited to meet them and begin this new year. It will be an historic year, one they’ll always remember.
In-Person Learning
Back to School Night is virtual this year. Linked videos will be on our school website so you can see the front office, the classroom, and meet your child’s teacher. Videos will be uploaded to the website by this Thursday, Aug. 20th.
As you drop your child off next Monday, they will find their teacher’s name marking the spot where the class lines up. Students in grades 3 and 4 will line up at the back of the building. Students in kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades will line up on the south playground. Know that we will be smiling behind our masks and anxious to greet our arriving students! We can help them find their lines or teacher and get them to the right place.
Governor Herbert just announced modifications to the face covering mandate for schools. Students and staff have been asked to wear cloth masks only and not face shields. Face shields may be used for short times during speech therapy (with a plexiglass shield also in place), but other than that we will all be wearing cloth masks. It does get easier as we get used to it, and students may remove their face coverings at recess when they’re outside and staying 6-feet apart and while eating lunch.
Online Learning
We have to change the dates for picking up items for those who are learning at home (Chrome books, math books, learning materials, etc.) On August 20th and 21st, parents can come to the north parking lot to the cafeteria door. Staff will come to your car to get your information and hand out the items. Staff will be there from 12:00 am to 3:00 pm on Thursday, Aug. 20th, and then from 10:00-1:00 on Friday, Aug. 21st.
