Dear Parents,
We will have lots of volunteers tomorrow helping with our Valentine’s Day parties. Please be sure that you have filled out the volunteer application on the district website, or we won’t be able to let you in to volunteer. This process must be done once very school year.
I just wanted to give a friendly reminder that the front office won’t answer the phones from 2:45-3:00 Mondays-Thursdays. Please be sure to call earlier if you need a message given to your child about pick-up. This is a very busy time in the office, and our attention needs to go to those who are needing help in person. If you leave a message, the front office staff will get back to you as soon as they can. Thank you!
Hello Parents,
This past week we have been celebrating our school’s growth as we review and reflect on our mid-year Acadience testing. Our teachers have been analyzing the data and have been making strategic plans to meet the needs of our students. The results of the Acadience testing will be shared with you at your parent teacher conferences in a few weeks. If your child is struggling with reading fluency, one reading strategy that may help is dyad reading. I use this strategy with my own son at home. Please visit this site for ideas on how to read with your child at home as well as a Youtube that will show you how to implement dyad reading strategies at home. We appreciate all your support!

Fifth Grade Maturation
To ensure fifth-grade students and their parents are able to take advantage of Canyons District’s popular maturation program, eight presentations have been scheduled through the month of March at four locations. The aim with this program is to provide consistent, sensitive and approved health and maturation instruction districtwide. All girls’ and boys’ presentations are conducted by Carrie Ann Kemp, a popular professional speaker who has been educating and entertaining young audiences, and their parents, for nearly 25 years. Families may attend the presentation that best fits their schedule. Parents are advised to leave younger siblings at home. The dates and places are listed at the end of this message.
