Monday Minute 5.17.2021

Dear Eagles,

Today we enjoyed being outside and being active during our Rock-a-thon!  It was the perfect weather.  Our students performed their dance for another grade and then began their laps around our fields.  The students received a water bottle from Silcox Orthodontics and a popsicle.  It was a lot of fun!  We hope to have pictures up on our website soon.

Masks next week

The state lifted the mask mandate for schools for their last week in session.  Next week is our last week, and masks will be optional at school.  We will finish this week with masks as usual.

Kindness Is Cool

Here are some more examples of kindness happening at our school these past couple of weeks.  We have the best students!

Wesley Whiting (5th grade)- asking a teacher, Mrs. Cooper, how her day was going

Samantha Fish (1st grade) – complimenting another student on their hair

Haylee Jex (4th grade) – cleaning up math manipulatives when no one else would

Rosie Lowder (2nd grade) – giving her prize to another student

Ariel Morrison (4th grade) – cleaning up math manipulatives when no one else would

Edan Beall (5th grade) – untangled the jump rope for the next person

Romeo Erekson (2nd grade) – sharing his basketball with some of the ACC students

Cannon Almy (3rd grade) – helping another student in class get back on track!

Dexter Morley (3rd grade) – helping another student with something on the computer

Vivienne Smith (kindergarten) – using the words “please” and “thank you” so often

Lydia Featherstone (kindergarten) – helping clean up without being asked

Hunter Backman (3rd grade) – opening and holding the door for Mrs. Andrews

Lorelei Haymore (3rd grade) – she is a good friend to everyone

Hadley Layton (3rd grade) – Being very, very, very kind

NEXT YEAR’S PTA BOARD

Two positions are open for next year’s board:

White Ribbon Week

Plan and organize parent volunteers to run activities during White-Ribbon week, which can be whenever we want it to be! White Ribbon Week is a fun-filled elementary school program that helps kids make healthy choices in media and technology. Every day, kids learn a new principle of online behavior through stories, classroom discussions and fun activities.

Membership

You will help organize the membership campaign, to get members to register for PTA at the beginning of the school year, and enter names into the PTA database for the year.  It is typically done at back-to-school night and during the first few weeks of school.
