Dear Parents,
We have completed our end-of-year testing with RISE and congratulate all the hard work by students, teachers, and parents. This Wednesday (K-2nd) and Thursday (3rd-5th) are the dates for Acadience testing and we encourage all students to be here if possible. If you know your child will be gone that day, please let their teacher know, and we can do the testing ahead of time. We cannot do any make-up testing after this Friday as the testing window closes that day.
Field Day May 23rd
The students will spend about half of their day outside on this day. Please consider applying sunscreen before school, sending a water bottle with your child, and a hat for the day. There will be some water activities, so wearing clothing that can get wet is great.
Dance Festival, May 25th
Next week we will hold our annual Dance Festival and perform for parents at 8:45-9:15 am. This is an outdoor event, and you’ll need to bring your camp/lawn chairs for seating. It is held on the south playground, and cones will be set up to show the staging. Come see what our students have been working on this year in Brain Boosters!
Looking towards next year
We have scheduled our Back to School Night event for Thursday, August 11th from 4:30-6:00. This will be an open house format with no general meeting for everyone nor set times for teacher presentations. You may come at any time during the evening. Students are invited to attend and meet their new teacher and see their new classroom.
Kindness Is Cool
Here are some more examples of kindness happening at our school these past couple of weeks. We have the best students!

Jaxon Vincent (5th grade) – being a good friend to his classmates
Angily Kango (3rd grade) – helping a student to class
Christian Gomez (5th grade) – being early and taking initiative in getting everything ready for safety patrol all by himself
Charley Grigg (5th grade) – helping a classmate with ELA
Scarlet Younglove (2nd grade) – always being happy to see me and trying her best
SCHOOL’S OUT, FOOD’S IN: Did you know that when school is out for the summer, Canyons District students can still get school breakfast and lunch? In fact, all children 18 years and younger are eligible to receive nutritional meals free of charge through Canyons’ federally-approved Summer Food Service Program. The 2022 Summer Food program will begin on June 1 and run through July 29. Unlike the pandemic, when sack meals were distributed curbside, these meals will be served inside school cafeterias at the following four, centrally-located sites. At all sites, Monday through Friday, breakfast will be served from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be no meal service on July 4 and July 25 when Canyons schools close in observance of national and state holidays.
