Candy Grams are selling this week
Students can purchase a Candy Gram during their lunch time this week to be delivered to their friend on Valentine’s Day. Each Candy Gram costs 50 cents. Thanks, Student Council, for promoting Friendship Month this month! Parents, you can purchase some in the front office anytime this week.
Kindness Is Cool
Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school these past couple of months. We have the best students!
Marley Simmonds (5th grade) – chose a gift for his litter sister instead of himself when he earned a Trip to the Principal. He also bought a gift at our class store for his sister
Claire Featherstone (5th grade) – patiently working with people at her table
Taytum Christiansen (5th grade) – wanting to help her partners to learn and be better
Courtney Talbot (Kindergarten) – brought lost jacket inside at recess
Evelyn Trujillo (Kindergarten) – cleaned up the table for her group (pencils, chairs & supplies)
Eyal Vos (4th grade) – helping students in Mrs. Hayes class be successful in our playworks game and playing inclusively
Bhodi Mikesell (2nd grade) – comforting a classmate who was upset by another student
Jaylyn Armstrong (2nd grade) – helping another student to better understand a difficult concept

Feb. 6th-10th—Candy Grams are being sold at lunch recesses

Feb. 7th—PTA General Meeting; 11:30; all are welcome!

*-PTA General Board Meeting– Feb 7th at 11:30 in the Reading Room
We encourage all (member or not) to attend. This is a great opportunity to ask questions to our Principal, Ms. Fielding, and discuss how the PTA supports our school. We love to have a variety of voices and perspectives. We hope to see you there!!!
*-Literacy Night Meeting– Feb 7th at 12:30 (Right after PTA General Meeting)
Literacy Month is around the corner, culminating with Literacy Night on Tuesday, March 21st. Harry Potter Literacy Night has been a tradition at Silver Mesa for many years, and it is the biggest night of the year. It takes many hands to pull it all together, and we need your help! If you want to be part of the magic, join us for our first committee meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, February 7th, at 12:30pm (following our PTA meeting) in the Reading Room at Silver Mesa.
