Dear Parents,
Congratulations to our first graders who did an amazing job on their program last week. Thanks, parents, for supporting your students!
Field Day
The lunch choice for Monday, May 22nd, will be a wow butter sandwich or a ham sandwich. We’ll be eating out side that day. Thanks, PTA, for planning a fun day for our students!
Staffing
We have a couple more staff changes for next year:
Heidi Vincent, 2nd grade accepted a position at Canyon View Elementary
Alison Milne, 5th grade, will be moving to 2nd grade for the next school year
Brandon Wagner, Custodian, took a position at Midvale Middle that starts today
We wish them the very best!
Home Visits
Our district received a grant to support teachers in visiting homes of students this year and next year. This is an optional program for both parents and teachers. The visits are short and must be done with two school personnel. Some teachers have already started and have very positive things to say about their visits with students and their families. We are hoping this program will help deepen relationships and strengthen the connection between school and home. When teachers reach out, let them know if you are open to a home visit. Thanks!
Library News
Hello Students and Families!
We are rolling out a Silver Mesa Reading Challenge this week in the library, so please ask your students about it. It is going to be a blast! Everyone will receive a paper copy this week to take home. It will also go out on parent square throughout the summer. Please take time and help your students keep being awesome readers through the summer. Our students and families are amazing and so grateful for all the support!

Learning Environment Forms due May 9th
On rare occasions there may be a need to request a specific learning environment for your child. Attached here is a form you can use to make this request. Tomorrow is the last day to turn in a request. Please understand that requests after this date are very difficult to process. A lot of thought and care go into our class lists, as we try to meet the needs of all students as well as balance the numbers. We will try to honor requests, but it may not always be possible. Thanks for understanding.

Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school these past couple of months. We have the best students!

Izzy Olsen (5th grade) – helping organize kinder iPads
Daphne Healps (4th grade) – partnering with another student who was having trouble finding a partner
