Dear Parents,

I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break!  We are excited for these last few weeks of school to work hard and finish the year strong.  Our end-of-year RISE testing is scheduled for the first two weeks of May.   This involves our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.  If you know your students in those grades will be missing any of that time, please reach out to their teacher to make alternative arrangements.   Thank you!

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year!

Sarah Smith is Silver Mesa’s Teacher of the Year!  She teaches first and second graders in our ACC program.  She does an amazing job and we’re thrilled she has been given this honor.   Way to go, Sarah!

No Drop-off or Pick-up in north parking lot

Please don’t use the north parking lot for dropping off or picking up your child.  This is the area that the buses use, and it is making it difficult for them to maneuver with vehicles coming in and out of the area.  Signs will be going up to remind patrons.  Please use the dedicated drop-off, pick-up lane for that purpose.  You might consider using the church parking lot across the street for drop-off and pick-up if the line is too long for you to wait in.   Thanks for helping us keep students safe.

Kindness Is Cool

Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school these past couple of months.  We have the best students!

Cache McIver (2nd grade) – helping clean up a group’s mess even though he wasn’t a part of the group

Quinn Simmons (5th grade) – being willing to help others in math

Mason Cox (5th grade) – Always asking others how they are doing

Charlie Merlo (4th) – always helping the teacher without being asked

Matthew Salcedo Ramirez (4th) – always helping run errands for the teachers

Talin Owen (2nd) – helped Ms Austa clean up the speech toys very quickly

Halle Higginson (1st) – giving compliments to friends

Arabella Zank (5th grade) – Earned a treat in EXCEL and broke it in half to share with another student that was sad because he didn’t earn one

Solei Flickinger (2nd grade) – went and played with someone who was lonely AND going over to a classmate who was crying and helped them.
