Each month the teachers pick one student who they feel deserves the honor of Eagle of the Month. I announce their names on the intercom and visit classrooms to hand out the awards, read their nomination, and give out a couple of prizes. Pictures are taken and sent home to families. I’m so proud of this month’s Eagles of the Month!

Junior Achievement
We are now gathering volunteers for each classroom to have a Junior Achievement coach. Your teachers will be reaching out for help.
What is Junior Achievement?
Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.
JA’s unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver curriculum while sharing their experiences with students. Embodying the heart of JA, classroom volunteers transform the key concepts of our lessons into a message that inspires and empowers students to believe in themselves, showing them they can make a difference in the world.
What would my role be?
Volunteering to be a JA instructor would mean that you would
a) attend a brief training in the springtime, 2022
b) review the curriculum that is provided
c) teach a series of 4-5 lessons using the JA curriculum, ranging in length from 30-60 minutes (depending on age)
Some teachers like to have JA volunteers come once a week for a month or so, and some like to blitz through in a week, some a couple times per week. You can discuss the schedule with your teacher as the time draws near.
We hope you will consider being a Junior Achievement Volunteer. The curriculum is very well-written and fun to teach. If interested, let your teacher know!
