May 4, 2022 – Minutes

Agenda/Minute items:

Approve last month’s minutes

We will be surplussing chrome books that won’t support testing anymore at the end of school year.  Families can request one if they’d like.

These should be ready to distribute to those who would like one in the fall.

Adding a new ACC class to our school next year, and getting a new portable to have the classroom space needed.

Mrs. Hayes will be moving into the portable.

With adding the new ACC class and the full day kindergarten we need the space.

Kindergarten numbers are down a little, we used to have 4 class but since COVID we are down to 3 classes.

End-of-year data is not yet available.  I’ll send out a slide deck to the SCC once we have our testing results back showing our growth.

TSSP/Land Trust plans spending report for 2021-22.

We are getting very close to using up what we had budgeted on aids for this year.

PTA made a large donation to the school which will help us finish the year. They had a record year for their fundraiser and had some funds left over, which they donated.

District-wide changes in the works

Determined last night that all levels (elementary, middle and high school) will have early out on Fridays

Looking at changing some start times for secondary schools, they like the idea of having them start a little later. It may affect Silver Mesa because of the ACC busing. Nothing has been decided yet.

Currently discussing adding more time for teacher planning in elementary by making Fridays only a 4-hour day. Nothing has been decided yet.

No plan for virtual learning days next year.

Have a new reading program, we have been using Reading Street and we will be switching to Wonder, teachers are excited about the change.

Teacher of the year

            Mrs Megan Guzman
