Our school is looking awesome with all the fun Harry Potter decorations throughout our building! I visited every classroom today to sort students into houses. Ask your child what house they will be earning points for! It was fun to see the excitement growing for Literacy Month. Thanks, PTA!

BOOK FAIR
Our spring book fair will commence on literacy night, March 17th, and continue through that week. We need helpers to setup, take down, and run registers throughout the fair. Sign up now to get your preferred time. All book fair volunteers receive $5 off their personal purchases at the fair:

Way to go all you eagles that participated in bringing in box tops! The winners of the box tops contest for February are:

They will each be awarded in class today with a Silver Mesa drawstring backpack.
Literacy Month: Sorting Day!!!
Silver Mesa has been transformed into the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Today, your student(s) were sorted into one of four houses–Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin.For the next 2 1/2 weeks, they can complete activities to earn their house points, in an effort to earn the 2020 House Cup. Excitement is in the air! Flyers are coming home today, and extra copies of activities are available at the front office. We still need your help filling all the positions for Literacy days/ Night. Please follow the links to see how you can help. Honeydukes will be open for business THIS THURSDAY during lunchtime, cash only. Students can buy Butterbeer, Chocolate Frogs, Bertie Bots and more.

Link to 5th Grade Maturation Programs
Canyons District’s informational maturation program for fifth-grade students and their parents is coming up in March. Presentations will be conducted by a professional speaker. All parents are encouraged to attend these free events with their children, and to choose which date best fit their schedules, so that they can continue the discussion in their homes. Fifth-grade teachers have been provided double-sided maturation flyers in English and Spanish to distribute during Parent-Teacher Conferences.
