Monday Minute

Dear Parents,

This last week, five of our Silver Mesa students 4th/5th graders competed in the District Book Blitz Jr Competition.  These students have been preparing for this competition since September.  They were required to read a minimum of 6 of the required 12 novels and answer questions about each.  After winning our school competition, they represented our school well at the district.  Well done girls!  Happy Reading!  Thanks to Mrs. Powell for her great coaching!

Library News

Hello Silver Mesa Students and Parents!

It’s the end of another fabulous school year and time to turn in all library books.  You may be receiving emails about late or lost books your student has checked out.  If you have turned them in or cannot find them, please don’t worry about it.  Every book in the library will be re-scanned and hopefully this will find those books that have been turned in and were missed in the return process.  I do appreciate all of the books that have been returned or paid for thus far.  Please note that you will continue to receive automatic messages, until we find them!

Thank you for your support and patience as we work through this process.

Kindness Is Cool

Here are some examples of kindness happening at our school these past couple of months.  We have the best students!

Lucien Sanchez & Greyson Young (4th grade) – picking up trash on our classroom floor without being asked!

Danica Smith (5th grade) – being so patient and kind to a fellow student.  She helped him clean out and organize his desk

Presslie Colvin (5th grade) – being kind and helping others in class

Claire Featherstone (5th grade) – Her focus in class is always on other’s well-being

Madeline Kupstas, Lydia Featherstone, Ester Beus, Audrey Adamson (2nd grade) – cleaning up a mess without being asked
