The explanations, clarifications, observations and discussions that take place in the classroom are invaluable components of the school learning experiences. A natural consequence of absence from the classroom is reduced academic performance. Utah’s Compulsory Education law states that all school age children must be in attendance at school unless there is a valid and legitimate excuse. Please call the school in the morning if your child will not be attending school that day. Then, following an absence, send a written excuse to the teacher. Students with excessive absences will receive letters regarding their attendance.
